Welcome to the Free Clinic of Rockingham County, Inc.

We invite you to explore our site, find out information about our services and how you may be able to help in our efforts to provide access to quality healthcare to the uninsured and underinsured in our county.

Through the gracious efforts of our volunteer doctors, mid-level providers, dentists, hygienists, nurses, lay volunteers, and our donors, the Free Clinic of Rockingham County is able to expand healthcare access and improve the standard of living in Rockingham County.

COMMUNITY RESOURCE

FCRC is serving as a viable healthcare resource to Rockingham County’s low-income uninsured. In 2010 we:

Provided more than 1300 medical and dental visits.

Dispensed 4058 prescriptions.

IMPROVING LIVES

92% of FCRC patients surveyed indicated improvements in overall health since coming to The Clinic.

PROVIDING A HOME

Hospitals cannot afford to subsidize ER visits in areas with large numbers of uninsured residents.

The Free Clinic of Rockingham County, Inc. provides a medical home for uninsured, low-income county residents to receive quality medical and dental care thereby reducing the burden and costs for local hospital emergency rooms.

15 patients are participating in a pilot program designed by our Physician's Assistant, Tara Jernejcic to Beat Obesity. Utilizing our new garden, collaboration with the YMCA and support from each other, patients will journey together to live a healthy lifestyle and ultimately move from the ranks of obesity and reduce risks of other chronic diseases. One patient who has been following this plan since January has already lost 40 pounds! Check back often as we follow the "Beat Obesity Team".

"I had lost my hope for improving my life because of the situation I was in, but the Free Clinic has given me my hope back. I have always been a caregiver so taking care of myself has not been a priority and I have often felt guilty for doing so, but the staff at the Free Clinic is helping me to know that it's ok to take care of myself. It's nice to know that there are people on my side. The office staff and the medical staff have been wonderful. I truly feel that they care about my health and want to see me get better. If you are looking for a good cause to support, this is it; this is truly a service that will save lives for people like me who have no health insurance. MAKING OUR MARK

Voted 2008 Readers’ Choice Best Health Care Facility of Rockingham County.

Because of FCRC, patients are afforded a safety net that provides life sustaining medications, chronic disease management, annual Pap examinations, and treatment for a myriad of health issues such as an ear infection or an abscessed tooth.

Keeping this targeted population healthy and employed so that they can support their families and contribute to their local communities results in a ripple effect of economic benefit throughout Rockingham County.
