DOCTOR/NURSE PRACTITIONER/PA

Must hold current NC licensure; Flexibility is extended to provider in determining number of patients seen and scheduling of volunteer time; a volunteer nurse will be provided.

 

NURSE

Assists volunteer medical provider with the medical needs of patients

We’ve long heard about the “runner’s high,” resulting from the brain’s emission of endorphins that contribute to a sense of well-being.
 
Research shows that those who give to charity are also happier due to affects on brain chemistry and their own reported sense of satisfaction.

That feeling of euphoria from what psychologist’s call the “helper’s high” also induces endorphins that reduce stress hormones. 

 

DENTIST/DENTAL HYGIENIST

Must hold current NC licensure; primary emphasis is on fillings and extractions; flexibility is extended to provider in determining number of patients seen and scheduling of volunteer time; dental assistant available upon request.

 

DENTAL ASSISTANT

Assists volunteer dentist with the dental needs of patients

 

ELIGIBILITY SCREENER

Collects demographic and financial information from individual to determine service eligibility. 

 

RECEPTIONIST

Greets patients and visitors to FCRC; documents patient arrival and collects patient administrative fees; directs prescription pickup traffic; records prescription refill requests; answers telephone and directs calls accordingly.

 

 

OFFICE ASSISTANT

Helps with filing, typing, photocopying, folding, mail outs, and data entry if desired

 

COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR (on call)

Represents the organization’s mission by sharing information with churches, clubs, community events, etc. through public speaking.

 

COMMITTEE MEMBER

FCRC needs volunteers with diverse talents to serve as ad hoc members of Board Committees

 

BOARD DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Nominates officers and new Board members at appropriate times during the year and recommends changes to by-laws as needed.

 

CLINICAL SERVICES COMMITTEE

Responsible for the functions of the organization directly related to the delivery of services to its patrons>

 

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Maintains knowledge of sources and amounts of funds received; develop, present, and explain the total budget; monitor the budget year-round and present exceptions to the Board.

 

FUND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Engages in the direct solicitation of annual and major gifts from both the private and corporate sectors; designs and coordinate special events aimed toward fundraising and raising community awareness.

 

HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE

Works with the Executive Director regarding personnel issues and assists in the development and yearly review of the personnel policies; reviews and makes recommendations regarding staffing needs and salaries on a yearly basis.

 

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Develops and annually reviews and updates short and long-range plans involving all aspects of the operations and programs of FCRC.

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS AND VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE

Enhances the importance of volunteers by fostering good working relationships between the volunteers,

patients, staff, and the community. Actively recruits new professional and non-professional volunteers to the agency. Works to increase community awareness of the mission of FCRC, its services, and those served. This committee will create and monitor effective publications and informational materials to ensure that a consistent message is presented in the community.
